About Calfo's Auto Service
Complete auto service, mechanical and collision, family owned and operated, over 70 years of experience
Located at 101 Greenfield Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, Calfo's Auto Service operates as an auto repair shop serving Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Pittsburgh, shops are busiest on Monday mornings and before holiday weekends, so a mid-week appointment gets a car seen faster. Labor rates across Pennsylvania vary by neighborhood and by shop type, from small independents to dealership service bays, and mobile mechanics now cover many routine jobs in the driveway. Before authorizing a repair, ask for the estimate in writing, whether the shop warranties parts and labor (12 months / 12,000 miles is common, some offer more), and whether it can provide a loaner or a shuttle. Check the listing for hours, the makes the shop works on and its Google rating, then call ahead, since walk-in capacity is limited at smaller shops.
Hours are published for 5 days a week. The most common schedule is 7:30 amβ5:30 pm. Note that it does not open on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (412) 521-6796. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 201 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded auto repair shops in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Some of the best mechanics out there. They really know the ins and outs of older cars especially. Theyβre always friendly, honest, communicative, and timely with their services. Their prices are super fair, and they never try to get you to do something unnecessary with your car. Canβt recommend Calfoβs enough!

This guy runs a high volume shop. Quantity over quality. He's just going to slap something together and get you on your way. If you actually think your going to get a quality fix to your issue god bless you. In the second photo he used an aftermarket part (the bolt is sticking out a lot, just random parts that don't fit well, bracket not secured flat and properly) that doesn't really fit and is bound to fail and this guy charges about $200 hr for labor and marks up parts 5 times.

Excellent service! It was necessary to do an inspection, itβs the first time Iβve done it and I was afraid that it wouldnβt pass, the service would do something! But everything turned out to be fine, the car was checked, new stickers were glued, an inspection certificate was issued, no additional services! $100 and the inspection is ready!

Some of the best, friendliest people providing excellent customer service and the highest quality of auto service. Everything from maintenance to a surprise oil leak was handled promptly and on time. Prices are super fair, never pushy with a very welcoming atmosphere.

Cares for your car but not so much for you. I had my car inspected elsewhere and it passed but needed more work. I found Calfo's and they said they could do the work. Then I spent about a month trying to get service scheduled. At the first appointment, I dropped off the car for a 2-day job, only to come to pick it up and was told they forgot to order the parts - and also forgot to tell me. Two days without my car wasted. I was told they would call back to reschedule, but the call never came. I tried several times an only when I asked if I should look elsewhere for service was my appointment scheduled. I dropped the car off again and was again told it would be a 2-day job. In the meantime, my "Maintenance Required" light had come on and I asked that this be checked as well. When I called mid-afternoon of the second day, (didn't totally trust it would be ready) I was told they had gotten the wrong part and were trying to get another. It may or may not come that day. Eventually I got a call that it would be ready by end of day. When I picked the car up, they were checking under the hood for the source of the "Maintenance Required" light. I was told it was fluid levels, a
